Human and Organisational Factors (HOF) are one of the three pillars of safety, alongside technical safety and the safety management system. These pillars have been added over time, and the safety approach, through HOF, focuses on the individual, work situations, work groups, organization, and management. At UIC, HOFs are a priority for improving safety culture, leading to a dedicated HOF working group that has developed several resources.
