Health and Safety at Work

Health and Safety at Work
Improving occupational health and safety through best practices and mutual learning

At UIC, our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) approach is committed to understanding and managing workplace risks while promoting the health and wellbeing of railway workers worldwide. We address hazards, improve working conditions, and strengthen organisational practices. Our strategy is built around an annual roadmap developed with UIC members. Together, we aim to create the healthiest and safest railway system. By sharing global best practices and tailoring them to local contexts, the strategy seeks to strengthen workplace safety, foster a robust safety culture, and drive continuous improvement across the rail sector.

Recently, we have launched the toolbox "Track Worker Safety", to give technological, organisational or training measures to improve safety at work when working on tracks.
